HoleAmpCornerMarketThe Hole & Corner is a black market of sorts that sells high-quality weapon components for inordinate prices. There are five vendors in the market, as well as a number of unimportant NPCs that appear randomly. The soundtrack for this area is "Bizarre". AccessTo first access the Hole & Corner market, you must encounter a transport ship in splice 6. It will appear in an enemy fleet, though it will be yellow instead of the usual red. It will never attack, just skip its turn. Its defenses are also terrible, so almost any attack will instantly defeat it (do not do this, by the way). Once all other enemies in the fleet are defeated, the transport ship will retreat, and you will be given the option to follow it. Do so, and it will lead you to the H&C. (If you do destroy the transport ship, don't worry; another one will reappear in a different fleet.) From then on, you can access the H&C from any time by examining the orange panel to the left of the Briefing door. Vendor JargonProperty Vendor

StatisticsIn episode 3, the property, type, and shell vendors all sell quality 7 components as a baseline, with a one in ten chance of them selling a quality 9 component instead. The added effect merchants sell level 3 components, with a chance of selling a level 4 instead. In episode 4, the quality of all components is increased by one level (9/4 as baseline, 10/5 as rare). Prices are as follows:
(The added effect merchants are the only ones who do not adjust price based on quality; their prices remain the same in episode 4.) Vendors only sell one item per cycle. Taking any mission will allow them to replenish their stock. In addition, an EROS access card (L3) can be purchased here for 10,000¢. The trader is a "shady AUG" directly to the left of the entrance. NPC ChatterLoiterer (left of entrance): "Just waiting for someone interesting to pass by. We get all sorts of characters though here, you know." Shady AUG (left of entrance): "Hey, you familiar with those EROS head cases? I've seen one of their labs before. Almost made me need augmented eyes." Greeter (entrance): "This is Hole and Corner's Market. Our only rule is, assume everyone is armed, and they will grant the same pleasure to you. It keeps things orderly. Trustworthy. On the in-and-out-and-up-and-up, you know? So, go enjoy yourself." Neht Sikohlon (entrance): "You are Mahk's commander, right? Father sent me to observe the sort of clientele we may be expecting soon." Typelog Agent (center): "Ros Ouranos... Why am I here? Curiosity, on behalf of the corporation. It is a strange situation. They use no method of recording at all, yet they continue to flock to this place. How can they remember it, then?" Browser (wandering center): "This place is self-policing, right? But it's just here. Why can't people do that everywhere else too?" EROS Member (upper center): "They use overcharged magnetic floor beams to make it obvious if someone is stealing something. It's actually quite clever...and unfortunate that theft is an issue at all, of course." Familiar LAC (upper center): "Niiice jacket! Does it come in skinny LAC size? Wait, do ya think the blue would look good on me?" (Note: will not appear after Jessamine is recruited)
Peruser (upper center): "Hull...systems...pilot... I never had to worry about all this stuff when I just lived on the hab..." Drifter (upper left): "Do weapons really need all these bits and pieces to put together? What ever happened to a good old low-tech blade?" Idler (lower right): "They find stuff so rare, even they can't identify it right away! That makes buying it all the more exciting, don't ya think?" |
